August Devices - Surveillance Solutions Service Warranty Policy

Purpose and Scope

This document outlines the return, repair, and replacement policy for August Devices Surveillance solutions purchased through authorised distributors. We accept Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) requests only from authorised distributors within India.

Policy Amendments

August Devices reserves the right to amend or cancel this Service Warranty Policy, in part or its entirety, at any time and with or without notice.

Hardware Warranty Coverage and RMA Policy

August Devices warrants its surveillance solutions and accessories contained in the original packaging ("Product") against defects in material and workmanship ("Defect") under normal use as per our guidelines, including technical specifications, user manuals, and service communications.

Warranty Terms:

  • This Standard Warranty is applicable only for products sold by August Devices.
  • The Warranty Period varies by product. Please refer to the product catalogue or the August Devices website for the actual warranty period.

RMA Process:

To obtain warranty service, the Distributor must provide the following within the applicable warranty period:

  • A valid bill of sale or receipt substantiating the date of sale.
  • Shipping documentation or records to substantiate the date of shipment.
  • Prompt notification of any known warranty claims and cooperation in any claim investigation.
  • Initiation of all warranty claims using August Devices’ RMA process.

Repair or Replacement Guidelines

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles:

  • Provide a same-model replacement (or a materially equivalent or better model if discontinued and unavailable).
  • Repair the defective product using new or refurbished parts.

Repaired and replacement Products will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or ninety (90) days from the date of shipment, whichever is longer. Any replaced product or part becomes the property of August Devices.

Warranty Coverage Limitations

This Limited Hardware Warranty does not cover:

  1. Products with altered, defaced, or removed original identification markings.
  2. Products modified or altered other than by August Devices.
  3. Products installed or used contrary to user manual instructions.
  4. Products subjected to improper repair or maintenance not performed by August Devices.
  5. Products used for purposes other than those for which they were designed.
  6. Products subjected to misuse, abuse, negligence, or operating conditions outside specified limits.
  7. Products subjected to electrical short circuits, transients, accidents, fire, flood, or other acts of God.
  8. Products purchased from unauthorised sources.

This warranty does not include data recovery services. We strongly recommend backing up data prior to submitting any product for warranty service.

Non-Transferability of Warranty:

This Limited Hardware Warranty is specific to the Distributor and is non-transferable.

Warranty Limitations and Disclaimers

THIS LIMITED HARDWARE WARRANTY REPLACES ANY OTHER WARRANTY, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. August Devices disclaims any warranties regarding the product's effectiveness in preventing or reducing risk of property damage, theft, personal injury, or death.

Damage Liability Limitations

August Devices and its affiliates will not be liable for special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages, loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, costs of substitute equipment or services, or other damages related to warranty claims. Total aggregate liability is limited to the price paid by the Distributor for the product.

Warranty Eligibility Criteria:

  • The product is under warranty if the purchase invoice/bill is available and shown during repair.
  • Warranty and serial number stickers must be intact and untampered.
  • Products should not be opened or repaired by unauthorised centres.
  • Products with damaged, burnt, rusted, or water-logged components are not covered.

Circumstances Leading to Warranty Voidance:

  • Altered or removed product identification markings.
  • Unauthorised modifications or repairs.
  • Misuse, abuse, or installation not according to guidelines.
  • Damage from environmental conditions, electrical issues, or accidents.
  • Products purchased from unauthorised sources.

Warranty Conditions

Under Warranty:

  • Repairs or replacements are provided free of charge if the product’s warranty and serial numbers are intact and it is not tampered with or damaged.
  • Repairs include replacement of defective parts with new or equivalent parts.

Out of Warranty:

  • Products repaired out of warranty are subject to charges. Warranty on repaired parts varies from 3 to 12 months based on the type of repair.

Damaged or Burnt Products:

  • Repairs for damaged or burnt products will be conducted on a chargeable basis. If non-repairable, options for replacement or return will be provided.

General Terms & Conditions:

  • Warranty terms are subject to change without notice.
  • The warranty is non-transferable.
  • The warranty period starts from the date of the first purchase.
  • August Devices reserves the right to deny repair of outdated models due to spare part unavailability.
  • Transportation damage during shipping to the service centre is not covered.
  • August Devices does not warrant data recovery.
  • Refurbished products sold by any platform do not fall under warranty.
